Andrean Thespians at State!
This past January, Andrean High School's thespian troupe, Troupe #8002, was able to compete at the Indiana Thespian State Conference at Indiana Wesleyan University. The group as a whole showcased Andrean's fall musical "You're A Good Man Charlie Brown" and the show ended up placing in the Top 10! Our technicians from Charlie Brown decided to compete in the annual State Tech Olympics. Our team, composed of Josh West (senior), Dominic Rund (junior), Sabina Barnard (junior), and Eileen Shea (sophomore), placed 1st in the curtain folding event with the fastest time in Indiana; 24.38 seconds! Josh and Dominic also placed 2nd overall in the leg a platform event. Congratulations techies! In addition to the play competition and the Tech Olympics, the conference offered several theatre workshops, scholarship opportunities, college auditions, technical thespian activities, play viewings, as well as individual competitive events. Troupe #8002 had several individuals compete in IE's, all of which either earned a State Excellence or a State Superior.
Our State Excellence Award winners were as follows:

Charlie Brown Goes On Tour!
The cast and crew of “You're A Good Man Charlie Brown” were given the opportunity to take their show on tour! The Troupe packed up their supplies and traveled to two Catholic grade schools in Northwest Indiana; Saint Paul Catholic School in Valparaiso and Aquinas Catholic School in Merrillville. Andrean's Theatre Company first visited St. Paul on a Friday morning and performed twice for the entire school. Students and teachers loved the show and were excited to see St. Paul alumni Zoe Irving (senior), Josh West (senior), and Meg Moberley (freshmen). “It was good and I had so much fun! I was so excited to see my sister and I got to show all my friends that she was Lucy! The show was funny and I liked that I got to take a break from school to see the show and give Zoe a hug!” says Isaac Irving a kindergartener at St. Paul who was excited to learn that his sister would be coming to his school to sing and dance for the students! Their most recent stop on the tour was Aquinas Catholic School where they performed the show on Aquinas' stage for the whole school to see! Students and faculty were excited to see this hilarious musical hit and catch up with a couple of their alumni; Stephen Grata (sophomore) and Kaden Ford (sophomore). “I felt like it was a very good play. It was funny, entertaining, musical, and all-around a great play!” says Janai Walker, a sixth-grader at Aquinas, who had a blast watching the cast perform!
